Currency format theme settings

The Currency format theme settings of Combine show currency codes in prices and set how the currency and language selectors look.

Applies to: Combine 4.2.0 and later. Added in: Combine 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Combine 4.2.0.

The Currency format theme settings change how prices and the currency and language selectors look. Currencies, prices and languages themselves are Shopify settings, not theme settings.

Where to find it: Theme settings → Currency format

Currency codes

  • Show currency codes adds the currency code after every price, for example "$1.00 USD". It applies to product prices, the cart, the filters and the discount badges.
  • Turn it on when you sell in several currencies that share a symbol, such as USD and CAD.

Localization settings

These settings change the country and language selectors in the header, the announcement bar and the footer.

  • Show country name in currency selector shows the country name next to the currency code and symbol, for example "Canada (CAD $)".
  • Show ISO name in language selector shows the short language code ("EN", "FR") instead of the language name ("English", "Français").
  • Show country flag adds the flag of the selected country to the country selector.

The selectors appear only when your store has more than one country or region in Shopify admin → Settings → Markets, or more than one published language in Shopify admin → Settings → Languages. Shopify controls both lists.

How do I change the currency format itself, for example the decimals?

In Shopify admin, not in the theme. The money format (symbol position, decimals) is part of the store currency settings in Shopify admin → Settings → General. Combine prints prices in the format Shopify gives it.
