Announcement bar section
The Announcement bar section of Combine shows rotating messages with links above the header, with optional language, country and social links.

The Announcement bar section shows short messages in a bar above the header, for example a sale or free shipping. With several messages, customers move between them with arrows, or the bar rotates them on its own. On desktop it can also show the language and country selectors and your social icons.
Where to find it: select Announcement bar in the Header group of the theme editor sidebar. It can also be added to the Footer group.
Visibility
Visibility chooses where the bar shows: All pages, Homepage only, Product pages only or All pages except the homepage.
Content blocks
Each message is a Content block. Select Add block inside the section to add more.
- Text is the message.
- Link makes the whole message a link. Open link in a new window opens it in a new tab.
- With two or more blocks, the bar shows one message at a time, with arrows on both sides.
Rotating several messages
Add a block per message
Select Announcement bar → Add block → Content for each message, and write its Text and Link. Drag the blocks to set the order.
Turn on autoplay
Under Functionality, turn on Autoplay. It needs at least two blocks.
Set the interval
Set Autoplay interval to the number of seconds each message stays, from 3 to 20 (default 6). After the last message, the bar starts again from the first.
Autoplay was added in Combine 4.0.0.
Language and country selectors
- Show language selector adds the language selector to the bar. Add languages in Shopify admin → Settings → Languages.
- Show country/region selector adds the country selector, with the currency of each country. Add countries in Shopify admin → Settings → Markets.
- Each selector appears only when the store has more than one language, or more than one country.
How the selectors look (flags, country names, language codes) is set in Currency format theme settings.
Social icons
Show social icons adds the icons of the profiles filled in Social theme settings, on the left of the bar.
The selectors and the social icons show on desktop only, on screens 1024 px and wider. On smaller screens the bar shows only the messages. The mobile menu drawer has its own selectors and social icons, set in the Header section.
Colors
Background color, Text color and Border set the colors of the bar. The text color is also used for the arrows, the links and the selectors. Leave Border transparent for no line under the bar.
Can I show the announcement bar on some pages only?
Partly. Visibility offers the home page only, product pages only, every page, or every page except the home page. Combine has no setting for single pages or collections. To show a message on one page only, add a Scrolling text or Rich text section to that page's template instead.

Autoplay (checkbox, default: off): Rotates the messages on its own when the bar has two or more Content blocks, looping back to the first.
Autoplay interval (slider 3 to 20 s, default: 6 s): Sets how long each message stays before the next one shows. Shown only when Autoplay is on.

Show country/region selector (checkbox, default: on): Shows the country selector, with currencies, in the bar on screens 1024 px and wider, when the store sells to more than one country.

Show social icons (checkbox, default: on): Shows the social icons from Theme settings → Social on the left of the bar, on screens 1024 px and wider.
Announcement bar section: Colors
Where to find it: Announcement bar → Colors
Background color (color, default: #111111): Sets the background of the bar and its arrows.
Text color (color, default: #ffffff): Sets the color of the messages, links, arrows and selectors.
Border (color, default: transparent): Draws a line under the bar. Transparent means no line.
Content block
Where to find it: Announcement bar → Add block → Content
Text (text field, default: "Write an important announcement here"): Sets the message shown in the bar.
Link (link): Makes the whole message a link to this page.
Open link in a new window (checkbox, default: off). Shown only when Link is set.
