Customer account pages
The customer account templates of Split: login, register, account, order, addresses, activation and password reset, and Sign in with Shop.
Applies to: Split 5.1.0 and later. Added in: Split 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Split 5.1.0.
The customer account pages are the templates where customers sign in, create an account and see their orders and addresses. Split has seven of them, one section each. Only the Login page has a setting.
Where to find it: Customer accounts → Login page
Which account pages do my customers see?
It depends on the type of customer accounts you choose in Shopify admin → Settings → Customer accounts. This is controlled by Shopify, not by Split.
- New customer accounts (Shopify's default): customers sign in with a one-time code sent by email, and the account pages are hosted by Shopify, not by the theme. Split's account templates are not used. The header account icon opens Shopify's account menu, set in Header → Customer account menu (Split 5.0.0 and later). See Header section.
- Classic customer accounts (called legacy customer accounts in Shopify admin): customers sign in with an email and a password, on the pages of Split's templates below.
See Shopify's customer accounts guide to choose between them.
The account icon in the header shows only when customer accounts are turned on.
The classic account pages
With classic customer accounts, Split uses these templates:
- Login page: email and password, a "Forgot your password?" link with the reset form, and Sign in with Shop. When guest checkout is allowed, it also shows a button to continue as a guest.
- Register page: first name, last name, email and password.
- Account page: the customer's order history (order, date, payment status, fulfillment status, total) and their default address.
- Order page: one order with its items, discounts, totals, and the billing and shipping addresses.
- Addresses: the customer's addresses, with links to add, edit or delete them.
- Activate account page: where a customer you invited from Shopify admin sets a password.
- Reset password: where a customer sets a new password from the reset email.
These sections have no settings. Their texts are theme texts: change them in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit default theme content. You can add other sections around them with Add section.
Sign in with Shop
Enable Sign in with Shop (on by default, Login page) shows Shopify's Sign in with Shop button above the classic login form, so customers with a Shop account can sign in without a password. Turn it off to show only the email and password form. Added in Split 4.3.1.
Sign in with Shop is a Shopify feature: whether the button appears also depends on your Shopify settings.
Why does my account page look different from the theme?
Because your store uses new customer accounts. Their pages are designed by Shopify and use your store's branding from Shopify admin → Settings → Customer accounts, not the Split templates. To use the Split pages instead, switch to classic (legacy) customer accounts there.
