Cart page

The Kingdom cart page: the cart items, the subtotal with checkout buttons and app blocks, and product recommendations based on the cart.

Applies to: Kingdom 6.2.0 and later. Added in: Kingdom 2.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Kingdom 6.2.0.

The cart page lists the products in the cart, with the subtotal and the checkout buttons, and recommends more products. It has three sections: Cart items, Cart subtotal and Cart recommendations.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Cart

Most cart options are not on this page: notes, discount codes, the terms checkbox, the express checkout buttons and the image shape are set once for the cart drawer and the cart page in Cart theme settings.

Cart items and subtotal

  • Cart items shows the breadcrumb, the "Shopping Cart" title and the products, with their image, options, quantity and price. It has no settings.
  • Each item also shows its subscription plan, the details a customer entered on the product page, and the discounts applied to it.
  • A bundle shows a Show items link that opens the list of the products in it.
  • A product with Shopify disclosures set to show in the cart gets a link that opens them in a window over the cart. See Product page for setting up disclosures.
  • Cart subtotal holds the Subtotal & checkout block: the cart note, the discount code field, the total, the tax and shipping line, the terms checkbox and the Checkout button, each as set in Cart theme settings. Add app blocks under it, for example an upsell or a gift wrap app.

The cart page always shows the Checkout button, even when Theme settings → Cart → Drawer cart action buttons shows only the View cart button.

Cart recommendations

Cart recommendations shows up to 4 products in a slider, under the Heading (default "You may also like"). Shopify picks them as related products of the first product in the cart, in the same way as the Product recommendations section. The section is hidden when the cart is empty or Shopify has no recommendation.

Why do customers go to the cart page instead of the drawer?

Because Theme settings → Cart → Cart type is set to Page. With Page, adding a product and selecting the cart icon both open the cart page. Set Cart type to Drawer to open the cart in a drawer instead. The cart page still exists and opens from View cart in the drawer.

Can I remove the recommendations from the cart page?

Yes. In the theme editor, open the Cart template, select Cart recommendations and hide or remove the section. The cart drawer has no recommendations.
