Text block

The Text block of Combine adds formatted paragraphs with links and lists inside flex sections and cards.

Applies to: Combine 4.2.0 and later. Added in: Combine 3.1.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Combine 4.2.0.

The Text block adds paragraphs of formatted text inside a slide, card or column: a description, a list of features or a short announcement with links.

Where to find it: in a Flex slideshow, Flex grid, Flex cards or Flex columns section, select Add block inside a slide, card or column, then choose Text.

Writing the text

  • Type in Text. It takes paragraphs, bold, italic, links and bulleted or numbered lists.
  • A Text block with empty Text shows nothing.
  • For a title, use a Heading block above the Text block, so search engines read it as a heading.

Size and line height

  • Text size sets the size against the body text size of Typography theme settings: Small, Medium (the default, the body text size), Regular (a little larger) or Large. On a desktop with the default body size they are about 15, 16, 18 and 26 px.
  • Line height sets the space between lines: Default, Small (1.1) or Medium (1.25). Default is the most readable for long paragraphs; Small and Medium suit short lines in large sizes.

Why is the Regular text size bigger than Medium?

Because of the order of the options in the editor. Medium is the body text size and Regular is one step larger. The same four sizes are used by the Caption block.

Can I change the text color?

Not in the Text block. The text uses the Text color of its slide, card or column (under Design or Custom card design). To color one word, use a link, or put the words in a Caption block, which has its own Text color.
