Custom Liquid block

The Custom Liquid block of Combine runs your own Liquid code inside a flex section or card.

Applies to: Combine 4.2.0 and later. Added in: Combine 3.1.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Combine 4.2.0.

The Custom Liquid block runs your own Liquid or HTML code inside a slide, card or column of a flex section. Use it for an app snippet, a metafield value or a small embed that no other block shows.

Where to find it: in a Flex slideshow, Flex grid, Flex cards or Flex columns section, select Add block inside a slide, card or column, then choose Custom Liquid.

Adding your code

  • Paste the code into Custom Liquid. Liquid objects such as shop, product (on product pages) and metafields work as in a theme file.
  • The block shows nothing while Custom Liquid is empty.
  • The code sits in the card's text column, between the other blocks, and moves with them when you drag it.

Krown support does not provide help with custom code. Check the code in a duplicate of your theme first; a broken tag in this block can break the whole section.

When should I use the Custom HTML / Liquid section instead?

When the code needs a full-width area of its own. The Custom HTML / Liquid section can go anywhere on a page, while the Custom Liquid block lives inside a flex section card, next to its headings and buttons.

Why does my code show nothing on the storefront?

The code outputs nothing on that page, or a script waits for an event that has already fired. Test the code in the theme editor preview and in a browser console. For help with the code itself, see Custom work and code changes.
