What is Borders
What Borders is: a Krown Themes Shopify theme built on a visible grid of borders, with five presets, section groups and many layout settings.
Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.
Borders is a Shopify theme by Krown Themes, sold on the Shopify Theme Store. Every page is a grid of items separated by visible lines, and you decide how thick, dashed or rounded that grid looks.
Where to find it: Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes, once you have added Borders from the Shopify Theme Store.
What Borders includes
- Five presets: Borders, Objekts, Readers, Folio and Mosaic. They install the same sections and settings with different fonts, colors and grid values. See Borders presets.
- Four section groups on every page: the Header group, the Drawers group (navigation, cart and search drawers), the Footer group and the Overlay group (newsletter, popovers, rotating badges, age verification). See How Borders is built.
- 37 sections you can add with Add section, from the Vertical slider and Rich blocks to Shoppable videos, Flex grid and Table. See Borders sections.
- Six theme blocks (Text, Button, Badge, Content group, Custom Liquid, Empty space) for the Flex columns and Flex grid sections. See Borders blocks.
- Product pages with a gallery, sticky add to cart, size guide, product siblings, metaobject swatches, back in stock alert and coupon code blocks. See Product page.
- Product cards with quick buy, a second image on mouse over, rating badges from nine review apps, and sale and tag badges. See Product card theme settings.
- Cart as a drawer or a page, with a free shipping bar, gift wrapping, cart notes, discounts and a terms checkbox. See Cart theme settings.
The checkout itself is controlled by Shopify, not by Borders.
How Borders looks: the grid and its borders
- Theme settings → Layout sets the margins around the store and the inner padding and corner radius of every grid item. See Layout theme settings.
- Theme settings → Borders sets the lines: a border around the whole store, primary borders between grid items and secondary borders between sections. See Borders theme settings.
- Theme settings → Colors sets the color schemes. Each scheme has its own Borders color, so the lines change with the colors of the section. See Colors theme settings.
- Most sections can hide their borders, padding or corner radius for a different look. See General section styling.
Which version do I have?
Open Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes. The theme card shows the theme name and its version, for example Borders 3.1.0.
- Borders 3.1.0, released 2026-09-23, is the current version.
- Borders 1.0.0 was the first release, on 2024-01-03.
