Social theme settings

The Social theme settings add the links to your social profiles, email and phone that Split shows as icons, plus one custom network with its own icon.

Applies to: Split 5.1.0 and later. Added in: Split 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Split 5.1.0.

The Social theme settings hold the links to your social profiles, your email address and your phone number. Split turns each filled field into an icon; empty fields show nothing.

Where to find it: Theme settings → Social

Where the social icons appear

  • Footer: the Social links block of the Footer section lists every filled link, with its icon and the network name. See Footer group.
  • Menu drawer: the icons, without names, at the bottom of the menu drawer. See Drawers.
  • Paste the full address of each profile, for example https://www.instagram.com/yourstore. The example under each field shows the format.
  • Email needs the mailto: prefix (mailto:hello@yourstore.com) and Phone needs tel: (tel:+15551234567), so the icons open the customer's mail app or dialer.
  • Social links open in a new tab.

Adding a custom social network

Split has one extra slot for a network that is not in the list.

Prepare the icon

Make a 72 x 72 px PNG with a transparent background. Split shows it at 24 x 24 px, cropped to a square.

Upload the icon

In Theme settings → Social → Custom link, select Icon and upload the file.

Paste the profile address into Link and type the network name into Label. The icon shows only when Link is filled; the label is the name shown next to the icon in the footer.

Why is a social icon missing?

Because the field for that network is empty, or the Footer has no Social links block. Fill the field with the full address, then check that the Footer section contains a Social links block. Split has no setting to choose which icons show: every filled field shows.
