Text block

The Text block of Borders adds rich text with font, size, mobile size, line height and heading tag settings.

Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 3.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.

The Text block adds a piece of formatted text: a heading, a paragraph or a short note. It is the main building block of Flex columns columns and Flex grid cards.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → a Flex columns column, a Flex grid card, or a Content group → Add block → Text

Text and style

  • Text is the content. Bold, italic and links work. Type [br] to force a line break, for example in a short heading.
  • Text font uses the body font or the headings font from Theme settings → Typography.
  • Text size sets the size, from Extra small to Huge. Use Large to Huge for headings.
  • Mobile text size changes the size on phones (screens narrower than 768 px): Small and Medium make the text smaller than Default, Large makes it larger.
  • Line height sets the space between the lines.
  • An empty Text block shows nothing.

Heading tag

  • Heading tag (under SEO) sets the HTML tag of the text: H1 to H4, or span (the default, plain text).
  • The tag tells search engines how the page is structured. It does not change the look; Text size does.
  • Use H1 only once per page. On most pages the page title is already the H1. See General section styling.

How do I make a heading in a column?

Add a Text block, set Text font to Headings and Text size to Regular or larger, and set Heading tag to H2 or H3. Add a second Text block under it for the paragraph.
