Image size recommendations
Image size recommendations for Combine: pixel sizes per media aspect ratio, slideshow heights for desktop and mobile, and logo sizes.
Applies to: Combine 4.2.0 and later. Added in: Combine 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Combine 4.2.0.
Many Combine sections crop images to an aspect ratio or a height you choose; the others show images at their own ratio. This page gives the image sizes that look sharp in each case.

Product images and promotion cards
There is no single ideal product image size, but product grids look best when all product images have the same shape. Choose the Media aspect ratio closest to your photos (Theme settings → Product card), and Combine crops every product image to it. Sections with their own Media aspect ratio, such as Promotion cards, crop the same way.
Upload images at the aspect ratio you set, at these sizes:

To show whole images without cropping, turn on Fit media inside container next to the aspect ratio. The image then sits inside the shape, on the container background.
Slideshow
The Flex slideshow and the Slideshow (legacy) section set their height as a share of the screen height: Small (40 percent), Regular (50), Medium (60), Large (80) or Full (100), separately for desktop and mobile. Auto height ignores these heights and gives each slide the shape of its image.
With a set height, Combine crops the image to fill the slide. These sizes fit a 1920 x 1080 px desktop screen and a 375 x 800 px phone screen:

A slideshow that is not full width is as wide as Theme settings → Layout → Maximum page width (1360 px by default). Each slide can have its own mobile image or video, so you can upload a taller crop for phones.
Double these values if you want more sharp images and have the proper media available.
Logo
Upload the logo at twice the height you set in Header → Logo image maximum height, so it stays sharp on high-resolution screens. For a 40 px logo, upload an image 80 px high or more. See Header section.
Other sections and areas
- Sections with a height setting crop like the slideshow: test the heights with your own images.
- Sections without an aspect ratio or height show images at their own shape. Crop them before you upload so images side by side match.
- Icons in Text columns with icons, the footer payment icons and the social custom icons have their own sizes, given on their pages.
Why do my product images look cut off?
The product image does not have the shape set in Media aspect ratio, so Combine crops it. Pick the aspect ratio closest to your photos, or turn on Fit media inside container to show whole images. See Product card theme settings.
